You are not limited to these resources, but you are required to use a minimum of two books in addition to any databases or websites you use. (Never research using only one source or perspective.) Please remember that to access the databases listed below, you must have your Cook Library card number handy.
As you read and do research, you may want to ask yourself the following questions:
Environment:
· What landforms were in this region?
· What were their natural resources? How did they use them?
· What was the climate of this region?
Work:
· How did people provide for their basic needs?
· What were the roles of men, women, and children?
· What tools did they use?
Food:
· What did the people eat?
· How did they get it?
· Was it stored in a certain way?
Shelter:
· What types of shelters did the people live in?
· What materials did they use to make the shelters?
· How did their environment dictate the type of shelter they lived in?
Clothing:
· What did the people wear?
· What were the clothes made of?
· Did they decorate their bodies with anything?
Culture and Beliefs:
· What tribes lived in this region?
· What art forms did the people create?
· Who were the leaders of the tribe?
· What traditions were important to your region?
· What were the religious beliefs of the people?
· How did they spend their time? What entertainment did they have?
